Fragments of Wonder at Milan Design Week
During Milan Design Week, Meaningful Matter presented Fragments of Wonder as part of ROOTS at Masterly, The Dutch in Milano.
Fragments of Wonder is a series of mirrors that explores transformation through material memory and circular processes. Crafted from fragments of locally sourced ceramic waste, the work carries traces of the past while reflecting the present and pointing towards the future. Each piece is unique in material and process.
The ROOTS exhibition Sleeping Beauty: A Symbiotic Symphony was inspired by ideas of regeneration and dormant potential. Sleep becomes a state of quiet transformation, where materials are given time and space to evolve into new configurations.
Within this context, the mirror functions as more than an object. It becomes a surface of reflection in both a literal and conceptual sense, capturing change, impermanence and renewal.
