Green Product Award finalist feature for CIRCA

Lotte Douwes was selected as a finalist for the Green Product Award 2025.

Since 2013, the Green Product Award has honoured companies and start-ups whose products and services demonstrate excellence in design, impact and sustainability. With submissions from more than 85 countries and an international jury, the award supports market-ready sustainable solutions.

The Green Future Club is the certifying authority and training partner. White Lobster connects participants with expert networks, media exposure, exhibitions, publishing and community engagement.

CIRCA

Lotte was selected with CIRCA, a high-quality porcelain made from post-consumer ceramic waste. Around 11 million kg of ceramics from Dutch second-hand stores alone is sent to landfill every year. By turning these shards into new clay recipes, the material becomes a resource for a new production cycle while creating valuable jobs for people with poor job prospects.

CIRCA recipes can contain different percentages of shards, up to 100%. The recipes can be adjusted to the production technique, with the waste more or less visible and even self-glazing.
